About Me

My journey into children’s literature started in the classroom—before diving into publishing, I taught PreK-4th grade music and STEAM. As an elementary school teacher, I saw firsthand how powerful stories could be in shaping young minds. That passion led me to publish my first children’s book in late 2019, but to my surprise, my first three books were not successful in terms of sales. I had assumed that getting my stories into the hands of readers would be easy—that if I just put my books out there, success would follow. Instead, I found myself struggling to gain traction, get sales, and attract attention. The process was overwhelming, and I quickly realized that the support and guidance I needed simply didn’t exist.

Trying to figure it all out felt like playing 52-card pick-up with information scattered across the internet. The knowledge was out there, but it was unorganized, overwhelming, and largely geared toward novelists rather than children's book authors. I knew I needed a different approach. That’s when I started taking business classes online, tapping into my husband’s expertise—he has an MBA—and combining it with everything I knew about picture books. Through trial, error, and strategic learning, I developed a method that not only put my name on the map with my fourth book but also began generating real profit.

Seeing how well my approach worked, I wanted to share it with others. In 2021, I founded At Home Author to give aspiring children's book writers the guidance I wished I had when I started. Through coaching, resources, and actionable strategies, I’ve helped countless authors achieve success—many of whom have gone on to become bestsellers themselves.

I expanded into the world of agenting in 2022, starting as an associate agent at a small, boutique agent. By January 2023, I was promoted to literary agent, and in May 2024, I joined Creative Media Agency (CMA), where I represent a wide range of adult and children’s literature. As a Latinx agent and author, I’m passionate about championing underrepresented voices and ensuring that anyone can see themselves reflected in the books they read.

Speaking Engagements

I’ve had the opportunity to speak at a wide range of industry events, conferences, and workshops, sharing my expertise as both an author and a literary agent. From guiding aspiring writers through the intricacies of the publishing world to helping industry professionals understand what makes a children's book truly marketable, I love educating and inspiring others.
